New Media
Podcasts, video, blogs, flash - these were all extravagances not too long ago. Now, they seem to be a necessary part of web success. We are excited by the possibilities these new forms present for our clients, and are looking forward to brainstorming with you about how to take advantage of them.
Some initial ideas:
- Use the blog feature we offer in a private, employee-only section of your site, allowing for easy communication among your staff with a permanent record of that communication for easy reference going forward. Or, use the blog feature as we have on the support section of this site, as a means of communicating with your clients.
- Use a flash animation to elegantly show your product line from one place on the home page of your site (see Gelberg Braid's site as an example).
- Start a podcast and have it distributed from your web site and iTunes. Summarize your content into easy-to-listen-to sound bytes, and let your "readers" listen on their way to work. Check out how Slate is doing this.
Strategic Development
This was not always a service we could offer. After years of working with a wide variety of clients we have gained a unique perspective on running web-based businesses. We are happy to share our accumulated wisdom with you in two ways:
- As part of our normal communications with you as we develop your site and business solutions.
- On a formal basis, with a comprehensive report as the deliverable. This service is particularly useful to start-ups and companies wishing to make big changes as they move online.
User Interface Design
As more of our clients integrate tools for their employees and end-users into their web sites, user interface design becomes a paramount concern. We will work with you to ensure that your business tools are elegant and easy to use - think iTunes.
Application Development
Web-based applications, when done correctly, allow you to achieve efficiencies in your business that you may not have dreamed possible. We have found that for the uninitiated, these tools are hard to imagine. However, once our clients start using the tools and applications we develop, they cannot imagine running their businesses without them. We have yet to come across a business who cannot profit (in a every sense of the word) from the integration of such tools. Furthermore, these applications are typically built specifically for your business, meaning that they are not bloated with features you dont need.
Systems Integration
Many of our clients have existing applications and databases in place. Typically, these can be integrated with your web-based applications, allowing for a more powerful, streamlined solution. Furthermore, we are not opposed to buying and leveraging other third-party applications to support the tools we build for you. Examples of such integration include:
- Adding a third-party label printing application to support our GalleryMinder suite of applications.
- Adding a Microsoft Word conversion tool, allowing our clients to upload Word documents to their site, and converting them to HTML upon upload.
